バデイヌリ

”バディヌリ”には、「ちゃかす」「からかう」という意味がある。作者はワトーの絵に示唆されて、彼の絵に感じられるロマンスとノスタルジー、すなわち甘さと悲しいしさをこの作品に乗せようと考えた。どことなくユーモアの感じられるお洒落な小品になっている。

BADINERIE

Badinerie means to jest or to tease and his intention is to make a suite of classical dances with an undercurrent of humour. The ballet is inspired by the paintings of Watteau which possess the quality of Romance and Nostalgia, a mixture in fact of Sweetness and Sadness.

時の踊り

オペラ「ジョコンダ」の中でディヴェルテイスマンとして踊られる。川と太陽を中心にコール・ド・バレエが朝、午後、夕暮れ、夜を表し、純クラシックのテクニックで作られる。

DANCE OF THE HOURS

A divertissement danced in Ponchielli's Opera GIOCONDA. Ballerina represents the moon, her partner the Sun and corps de ballet morning, afternoon, dawn and night.

アルフレッド・ロドリゲス

ケープタウン生まれ。ケープタウン大学バレエクラブ及びロンドンにてバレエの訓練を受けた後。ダンサー及び俳優として仕事を始める。後にサドラーズウエルズ・ロイヤルバレエ団に所属し。同バレエ団でバレエマスターを務めたのち、フリーの振付家として独立する。バレエの振り付けにとどまらずオペラ、ミュージカルの制作にも携わリ、ロンドンを始めとして南ア、南米、ポーランド、ドイツ、イタリア、日本などで活躍する。

Alfred Rodregues

Born in Cape Town south Africa, where he first studied ballet and became interested in the theatre. He started his career as both actor and dancer and on arriving in London, joined the Sadlers Wells Ballet (now Royal Ballet).

Alfred Rodrigues not only choreographed ballets but also produced both operas and musicals. His productions have been seen in London, South Africa, South America, Poland, Germany, Italy, Turkey and japan.

ジュリア・ファロン

ロンドン生まれ。ロイヤル・バレエ団の最年少のダンサーとして入団。アシュトン、ド・ヴァロワ、マクミラン、クランコ等のバレエの初演メンバーとして活躍。

退団後は長年にわたってロイヤルバレエスクールの教師を務めた後、ロイヤル・アカデミー・オブ・ダンシングの芸術監督となる。

Julia Farron

Born in London. She joined Sadlers Wells Ballet (later Royal Ballet) as the youngest of the company. She created roles in the ballets of Ashton, de Valois, MacMillan and Cranko.

On leaving the company, she spent many years as teacher at the Royal Ballet School. She left the school to join the Royal Academy of Dancing and became its artistic director.
